Sharpie Designed Decorative Plates
Looking to spruce up your entertaining but don't want to spend a fortune on festive serve-ware? Today on the blog we've got an easy DIY project that takes boring generic plates and makes them perfect for any event!
What you'll need:
- Solid colored plates. I got these from Oriental Trading for $3.25 a piece. They're a hard plastic that is durable enough to withstand heavy foods and cheap enough that you can throw it away after you're done with it if you're exhausted and don't want to look at any more dishes in the sink.
- Colored sharpies. I used a fine tipped pink option, but any size or color will work for your project!
- Stencil. I used a flower design to match the look I was going for for the event. I got this one from the craft store, but there are more options if you do a search online. You can find pretty much any design to match your party's needs.
Step One. Place your stencil on your plate where you'd like to have the design. Next, hold it in place by using masking tape or painter's tape on it to secure it.
