A Guide to The Best Road Trip Snacks
Let's face it, I don't need any special reason to buy snack foods, but when you set out on a road trip, you just HAVE to have them, am I right? Here's a look at what you should be bringing along on your next road trip.
SWEET. Whether it's Teddy Grahams, marshmallows, or coconut chips, you'll want to bring something to satisfy those sweets cravings. I would just stay away from chocolate or anything that can melt because licking the inside of a Snickers wrapper makes it hard to keep both hands on the wheel.
SALTY. Popcorn and pretzels are always in my car on a trip. They're just a great snack that you can easily pop in your mouth while speeding through those small, one-light towns. Beef jerky is another one of my favorites. But not just any beef jerky, oh no! SAAP Lao Kitchen's Laotian jerky is the absolute best I've ever had.
CHEWY. Gum is always a good option. Even if you don't think you need any, trust me, you do.
SOUR. Whether it's the same old sour gummy worms or trying something new like Texas Crunchies, make sure to have something with you that will keep you awake when you're tired but you only have a few more miles to go!
HEALTHY. I said I was bringing options, but I didn't say I was eating them. No, but seriously, you'll want to have something that you can eat and not feel bad - like grapes, granola bars, and
BLAND. There's no nice way to say this, so I'm just going to say it - I get carsick. I can't read in the car. I can't sit in the back seat. I either need to be driving or in the front every time I get in a car because my poor little tummy just can't take it. Because of this, I always make sure I have something in the car that can help calm my stomach. I usually have an assortment of goldfish, pretzels, and Ritz crackers in the mix.
If you are interested in trying out some new snacks, I highly recommend Snack Sack. This box of snacks is sent directly to your home and even includes a logo printed canvas bag to carry it all in. Sweet stuff, salty stuff, and even drinks - it has it all! It was neat trying out new foods that they included in the box too because I got to see what new things I might want to get more of.
