3 Tips for Your Trip to Magnolia Market in Waco, TX
It's happened to the best of us. We're flipping through the tv channels and we stop on the show Fixer Upper on HGTV. Before you know it, you're 6 shows deep into a marathon full day of the show. Chip and Joanna Gaines, the show's hosts, are knowledgeable and loveable. They have a modern farmhouse style that women all of the nation seem to be drawn to - even if they've never even been to a farm. After the couple's success at remodeling homes on television became a phenomenon, the couple opened a storefront in Waco, TX called Magnolia Market. But the place is more than a store. It also has a bakery, food trucks, a garden, and a green space for kids (and kids alike) can play football and corn hole. It truly is a great place to bring the kids and spend a few hours.
At the same time, the Magnolia Market Silos can be overwhelming. There's always a lot people there and lines and wit times can be expected. As someone who's been there more than once, I've compiled a few tips to help you when planning your trip there.
When to go. Since most of the property and stuff to see there is outside, summer is going to be hot. Like, really hot. So if that's your thing, you do you, but for me, I prefer April and October. Summer is also going to be super crowded with people off of work and out of school as well.
Expect the crowds. There's going to be loads of people there all day every day that they're open, but Baylor game days and weekends are going to be the worst. Opt for first thing in the morning on a weekday.
Do your research. Before you go, check out the items you might want to purchase in their shop and what the menus are for the food trucks that are there. This will help you cut down the amount of time you stand waiting in line or being indecisive. Also, decide on items you can't find elsewhere - like branded materials. Galvanized planters and tiered serving trays are everywhere; opt for the Magnolia specific items to bring home to show to your friends.
Have fun on your trip!
