The Ultimate Guide to Holiday Bar Cart Styling at Macy's

The Ultimate Guide to Holiday Bar Cart Styling at Macy's

This post is sponsored by Macy's, but the ideas and styling are my own.

Oh, the bar cart...

In bringing up this topic, I've met so many people that don't understand the craze. But lucky or you, I'm going to break it down for you.

Before there were bar carts, there were “tea trolleys”. When people would drink tea, they used small wheeled serving trays to carry all of the condiments and necessities in an easy and concise way. After prohibition, these tea carts turned into bar carts as the evening cocktail became a household staple. Somewhere along the way, the bar cart has been pushed aside for built in bars in media rooms and tiki huts around the barbecue in the backyard. But bar carts are slowly starting to make a comeback. And here’s why:

  • They stow away and can move from room to room easily

  • Both men and women love them

  • They’re easily dressed up or down and can be an extension of your home and holiday decor

Bar carts are so versatile! Don’t drink? Use your cart for a hot cocoa bar! Need extra storage in your bathroom? Use it as a chic towel holder. You can also use them as a nightstand, plant stand, kitchen storage, and so much more!

While there, you'll see my designs for stylish holiday bar carts, my must have essential list for what to include on your bar cart for all of your entertaining needs, a hot cocoa bar for you to sip and stroll, and the best part is that this event will kick off a huge sale! What's better than that?

For the event, I created two separate looks - one is called "More is More" and features an all white, gold, and everything sparkly display. This cart features Martha Stewart's new line of barware and when I tell you it's fabulous, I mean it! Everything is gold - cocktail shakers, ice buckets, everything! It's seriously stunning.

But if glam isn't your thing and you like things to be a little more subdoed, I also created a "Modern Rustic" cart. This cart features Macy's Hotel Collection barware items. This line of sleek, black and dark wood elements are perfect for a more masculine look.

Whatever your fancy, go check out the amazing items they have over at Macy's now! And if you attend the event, make sure you the #thehurriedhostess so I can be there in spirit with you!
