Tips for an easy "Taco Tuesday"
Whether it's a taco bar with friends or a casual dinner at home with the family, taco Tuesday is a staple around our house. We love all things tex-mex around here, so of course tacos are pretty consistently on the menu. Here's a few tips on how to make your taco Tuesday an easy one!
Limit your toppings. With so many topping choices out there for tacos, keep it simple for yourself. For every person in attendance, offer an additional topping. For instance, we have four in my family, so our typical options are cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and lettuce.
Pick one meat. You don't have to have beef, chicken, chorizo, etc. Pick your favorite (or what you have on hand) and stick with it. Don't stress yourself out trying to cater to everyone's tastes. If this was a party, I would absolutely have more than one meat, but for just my family - nope. They've got one choice and they're going to like it! Ha!
Tortillas: There's more options than just flour or corn. I go back and forth between which kind of tortilla I want all the time, it honestly usually just depends on my mood. But recently I tried these taco boats from Old El Paso and I have to say, they really do make it easy! You can load them up partially like I did and make a taco OR you can fill them all the way up and use them like a mini taco salad bowl. They're sturdy enough to stand up to those borracho beans next to them and they don't fall apart or leak any of that good meat or toppings out. Plus, the package comes with taco seasoning for your ground beef (or turkey or chicken) and taco sauce for an extra kick (which I like).
I hope you get in the kitchen with your family tonight and enjoy some delicious tacos!
